Languages Mean Business
Leonard Orban, the European Commissioner responsible for multilingualism, visited Slovakia on October 23 and 24, 2008. During the second day of his visit to Bratislava he attended an event organized by the European Commission's Representation in Slovakia with a strong assistance and support of Patrik Zoltvány, Senior Partner of the consulting company FIPRA Slovakia. Discussion Forum/Business Breakfast on the topic of Languages mean business took place in premises of the European Information Centre, where Commissioner L. Orban met with business sector representatives in the presence of Henri Maloss, President of the Employers Group of the European Economic and Social Committee and Patrik Zoltvány, member-advisor of the European Economic and Social Committee for the National Union of Employers. The participants of the meeting vividly discussed the issues of lifelong learning in the area of languages and successful participation of job applicants having the advantage of commanding a number of languages in the labour market.

Its main theme was American vs. European lobbing-which model for Slovakia? Event partner was FIPRA Slovakia consultancy group and two of the speakers was Ambassador (Ret.) JENEWEIN Chess Match 2008
Holding company JENEWEIN GROUP as a pioneer and a carrier of innovative ideas has decided to promote the game of the kings in Slovakia. The company has chosen chess and its philosophy as one of the key elements and motives of its corporate identity already in the past. That's why JENEWEIN GROUP was co-organizing a chess match of Slovak and Czech top managers and under the name JENEWEIN Chess Match it wants to promote elegance and beauty of chess game to the public while creating new tradition of chess playing in Slovakia. Event was held on October 10 and 11, 2008 in Art Hotel William and Central Passage in Bratislava where selected Czech and Slovak top managers challenged each other. Level is set high as JENEWEIN Group has not invited only great teams, but also a legend of chess world and history. Twelfth world champion and Russian grandmaster Anatolij Karpov opened the match of top managers on Friday, October 10th and on Saturday, October 11, in front of more than 200 invited guests, played the exhibition match with Slovak grandmaster Sergej Movsesjan.

Ambassador (ret.) Rastislav Káčer and FIPRA Slovakia have joined forces
Rastislav Káčer joined FIPRA Slovakia as Chairman in September 2008 after completion of his five year term in Washington DC as the Ambassador of Slovakia to the United States. Prior to this Rastislav served at different levels of government for 16 years. Rastislav began his career as policy analyst at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs rising to Head of the Analytical Unit. Between 1994 and 1998 he served at NATO Headquarters in Brussels and on this return from Brussels became head of Policy Planning Staff and the Director General for Security Policy and Multilateral Affairs in the Ministry. In 2001 he became the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Defense responsible for the negotiations and accession process of Slovakia to NATO. In July 2008, Rastislav was elected President of the Slovak Atlantic Commission which is a member the Atlantic Treaty Association. Rastislav is widely recognized as expert on U.S. Domestic and Foreign Policy, Transatlantic Relations, Defense and Security Issues. Currently Rastislav oversees FIPRA assignments in Strategic Government Relations for Foreign Investors,Governments and International Institutions. Ratislav also serves as a Special Adviser to the FIPRA Group in Defense Policy and Procurement Team.

AMROP HEVER at La Clusaz
A meeting of about 85 Representatives from twelve countries of the CEE region of AMROP HEVER brand took place, similar to the previous year, at the end of 2008 in La Clusaz, a tourist resort in French Alps. The aim was to intensify the cooperation of partner offices, extending and strengthening the network of contacts necessary for cross-border assignments, and sharing knowledge and standards in one of the fastest growing regions within THE AMROP HEVER GROUP. The main topics during practice group meetings were unifying of the search process, reference checking, ethical standards, corporate communication, a using integrated outputs and CEE software. Besides work, the participants including seven professionals from AMROP HEVER Slovakia enjoyed the hospitality of this place: delicious food and wine, magnificent nature and scenery, and convenience of Beauregard hotel. Teambuilding activities (strong bow and archery, walking on stilts, tug-of-war, paragliding, golf and many others) and a social evening "A trip into the Middle Age", which took place in costumes of that period on St. Bernard castle, were organized by event professionals. Because of the success, all participants are looking forward to next year's team event.

Tatry Donau Cup 2008
As a part of the first year Slovakia's countrywide series Tatry Donau Cup 2008 Open, has on September 6 and 7, 2008 in Pezinská Baba taken place championship hill climbing for amateur drivers. Organizer, association AUTOKLUB Pezinok, thanks to organization services and 5 100 m long track, that was identical with the track for European hill championship, enabled to spend nice sport weekend not only for active participants but also for wide motor sport public. As an objective of the project is to support the idea „sport for everyone" and „with sport against drugs", raising the safety of road traffic, meaningful spending of free time (mainly youth) and talents development-future professional sportsmen, JENEWEIN GROUP is proud to be a partner of this project.

Human Resources Conference 2008
Nowadays, when it is not easy to acquire and maintain key workers, for organizations it's important to dedicate increased attention towards establishment of the right human resources strategy. Fact, that individual employers fight to look as good as possible in the eyes of their employees, has become a main topic of Human Resources Conference 2008, which is organized by In Form Slovakia society and took place on September 24, 2008 in Rotunda under the Slavín monument in Bratislava. Expert programme was divided into two blocks: Employer's Brand-advantage in labour force market and Modern Recruitment. In the first part had Alexandra Lichvárová, senior manager in AMROP HEVER Slovakia consultancy group, presentation on topic Trends in building a brand name in labour market to address generation Y. In her presentation she aimed to the fact that if organizations want to attract young talents, they must be well prepared and create for the talents adequate growth space.
