Bratislava Leaders Magazine: Amrop Grand Prix Jenewein
Held under the auspices of the Prime Minister of the Slovak
Republic Mr. Mikuláš Dzurinda, the 8th year of the show
jumping competition Jenewein Grand Prix lured spectators
to the JK Karpatia premises. On this occasion,
representatives of Amrop Jenewein Group, Vontobel
and Jeep donated a nice amount to Linka Detskej
Istoty at the Slovak Commitee for UNICEF.
The Slovak Spectator: From big picture to brass tacks
"On the one hand, foreign
affairs representatives have to
improve the system for influencing
decision-making processes and
advocating our strategic interests
towards the EU, such as creating
effective broader structure
including people in EU institutions
and independent experts and
companies active in EU relations,”
said Martin Novotný, a founding
partner and the chairman of
international operations at the AJG-
Amrop Jenewein Group.
The Slovak Spectator: Interview with Peter Bachratý
We understood
after a couple of successful years in business
that if we and the whole business sector
wanted to be more professional, we had
to become involved in some kind of philanthropy,
something that would help to
create a better business and public administration
environment. We used our existing
European activities and our Brussels office
to work towards this goal.
The Slovak Spectator: Firms hoarding HR tasks
HR outsourcing in Slovakia
has been shaped by the position
of HR departments in companies
in the country. Until the fall of
communism in 1989, HR
departments tended to be
focused on administration, and
human capital was not seen as an
important part of a company's
resources, according to Martin Krekáč, Co-Founder and Chairman, AJG- Amrop
Jenewein Group.
Connection Magazine: The Spirit of Enterprise Needs to be Nurtured at an Early Age
The long-term vision of Slovakia is to become a country flourishing
with science and technology, educated and creative people,
innovative products and quality services. One of the roads that
may lead to the fulfillment of these goals is reform of the education
system, especially based on a change in the administration of
educational institutes and mutually beneficial cooperation
between the public and private sectors.
Zisk manažment: Leaders are motors of success
There is and will always be
a substantial shortage of
people whose words and
deeds decide whether a region or
a country joins the winner's
circle or lags behind with those
defeated. Although managers in
general should possess certain
leadership qualities, the most
successful companies hunt for
Premium leaders who, along with
the general management
experience and qualification are
also able to offer visions and
successful strategies for the
future development of their
company.
Zisk manažment: Firms getting over age bias
Following the collapse of
the communist regime and
its deformed labour market,
companies began to give
preference to hiring young people.
These new employees may have
had less experience than their
older peers, but were more likely
to have the basic skills the new
times called for, such as
a knowledge of foreign languages
and technology.
Zisk manažment: Asleep at the wheel?
The number of people
working in the auto industry in
Slovakia will grow dramatically in
the next few years. Already, the
urgent demand for white collar
and blue collar workers with a
technical education and skills is
putting enormous pressure on the
Slovak labour market, and
competition for such employees
will only increase as the new KIA
and Peugeot-Citroen factories
come on line this year.
The Slovak Spectator: HR firms flying high on demand
In October, Martin Krekáč, co-founder of AJG-Amrop Jenewein Group, was elected president of the Slovak Entrepreneurs' Alliance, replacing Ivan Štefanec, the former head of Coca Cola in Slovakia. Krekáč said he had been inspired by the challenge of building a knowledge-based economy in Slovakia in line with the government's Minerva programme, a strategy for economic growth to 2010. He added he wanted to do more to highlight the positive aspects of Slovakia's economic reforms.
AJG was selected as one of the advisors to the Economy Ministry and new minister Jirko Malchárek in the selection of new appointees to the boards of state-owned companies and institutions. The ministry, which administers state companies such as the SPP gas utility, the Transpetrol oiI pipeline firm, and the Slovenské elektrárne electricity utility, had been criticized under former minister Pavol Rusko (2003 to 2005) for appointing political nominees and friends of the minister without qualifications to important posts.
AJG itself celebrated its 15th anniversary in March 2005. The firm specializes in executive search, management audit, human capital, European affairs and lobbying.
